The Consensus

"It is not our part to master all the tides of the world, but to do what is in us for the succour of those years wherein we are set, uprooting the evil in the fields that we know, so that those who live after may have clean earth to till. What weather they shall have is not ours to rule."
J R Tolkien, The Return of the King.

More informationThe Consensus Principia
These are seven groups of general principles incorporated into the constitution from which detailed policy is created. The areas they cover are economics, freedoms, judicial principles, global affairs, the social fabric, life and government

More informationThe Consensus Essentia
This forms the philosophical heart of the party and is incorporated into the constitution. It is a statement of the long term aims we are working towards. As such it forms the guiding framework for all that follows - indeed, all that follows is a mechanism to facilitate this.
It is divided into two sections, the spiritual and the temporal. The former concerns Humanity and its destiny, the latter concerns Nature and our world.

More informationThe Manifesto - the political policies of the Consensus
A manifesto listing of the policies derived from, or constrained by, the Principia.
At present this is only a brief outline of the major features. In time this will be developed to a far greater depth as membership grows and more resources can be allocated. In the meantime this should provide a succinct 'flavour' of the Consensus as a political body. It should also be borne in mind that policies may change as needs and times dictate, although within the bounds of the Principia and Essentia.
