"Every child has
great ambitions. As he grows, he is bombarded by negative
suggestions -- you can't do this; you can't do that; be careful;
look for security, and so on. Year by year, he experiences the
"realities" of life, and his ambitions fade away.
Figuratively speaking, most children die by the time they reach
their adulthood." Having got this far, what do we want from each other? Well, the absolute minimum we want from you is a completed membership form and some money! However, what we really want from you is your time, your energy, your effort and your commitment in creating a new political force in this country and beyond. What we offer is a place in this adventure and a chance to shape the Consensus in your image. Because this is a new venture we need people to create or help organise the Consensus in their areas, to stand for elected office both local and national, and to advise, administer, canvas and recruit on behalf of the party both 'on the street' and on the Net. Everyone has something to offer. You do not need to be a charismatic silver tongued political demagogue, nor a genius in political history and theory. You do not need to know much about politics at all - merely what you believe yourself. The most convincing arguments come from ones own belief and faith plainly spoken or written, with honesty and without pretence. The most important thing anyone can bring is enthusiasm. To give you some idea of what
is required: The bottom line is that this
cannot be done without you - we cannot do it alone. There is no
discrimination as to age, race, ethnicity or gender so how far
you go or what you do is entirely up to you.
Finally, what do you want
from us? Let us know. © The Consensus 2002 |
